Agentic AI is reshaping how organizations and people work. At Unipartner, we’re proud to support companies that aren’t just reacting to this technological shift but leading it — implementing innovative AI solutions that deliver real productivity gains. 🚀
Rui Miguel, Data & AI Area Leader at Unipartner, shared his perspective with NTech News, exploring how Agentic AI is becoming a new management discipline for organizations ready to rethink the way work gets done. Instead of simply answering questions, intelligent agents now automate repetitive tasks, orchestrate workflows across teams, and free employees to focus on higher-value, strategic work.
“The question is inevitable: will Agentic AI take away jobs?
The answer to this question is complex. Some roles will change, but the potential of this technology lies in allowing employees to stop performing repetitive tasks and focus on activities that add greater value to the business. With proper change management, this transition can be not only positive but also decisive for the competitiveness of companies.”
From decision-making to customer experience, Agentic AI is already generating impact across sectors — boosting innovation, scalability, and overall performance with a more productive workforce.

Agentic AI: A new era of productivity

For decades, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been applied to tasks such as image recognition or consumption pattern prediction. Today, however, we are witnessing a decisive shift. The major transformation lies in Generative AI, which enables natural language interactions — and Agentic AI represents the most advanced expression of this evolution.
Agentic AI embodies a new generation of intelligent systems capable of simulating human reasoning, decision-making, and execution abilities. It goes far beyond traditional AI: not only it responds to questions, it can also make simple decisions, perform tasks, and collaborate with humans autonomously or semi-autonomously. Some agents are highly specialized, acting as copilots for writing, data analysis, customer service, or scheduling, while others can take on coordinating roles, distributing tasks among different agents.
The real qualitative leap lies in applying this technology across multiple areas of organizations. Rather than being confined to technical domains, Agentic AI can be integrated into various departments, driving substantial gains in productivity, efficiency, and responsiveness.
At an individual level, it automates tasks such as drafting and revising emails, organizing information, or summarizing documents, freeing up time for more creative and strategic activities. In an organizational context, it accelerates repetitive processes, reduces human intervention in low-value operations, and enhances both the quality and speed of decision-making.
The question is inevitable: will Agentic AI eliminate jobs?
The answer is complex. Some roles will evolve, but the potential of this technology lies in allowing employees to move away from repetitive tasks and focus on higher-value activities for the business. With proper change management, this transition can be not only positive but also decisive for companies’ competitiveness.
Agentic AI is already being used across various sectors to automatically respond to generic customer inquiries; update and validate data in areas such as banking and insurance; provide immediate access to internal information through natural language; and speed up the interpretation of legal, technical, or regulatory documents.
The effectiveness of agents depends on the quality, structure, and reliability of the data they consume. Without a solid information base, their performance — and the trust in their decisions — inevitably deteriorates.
Implementing Agentic AI requires careful planning, starting with identifying where the technology can generate the greatest impact, prioritizing high-value areas, defining governance and control models, and launching small-scale initiatives before expansion. The most effective path is to begin with pilot projects focused on productivity and progressively evolve toward more complex use cases.
Agentic AI is clearly emerging as a new discipline of organizational management — one that demands strategic vision and continuous action. The sooner companies begin this journey, the greater the positive impact will be for organizations and the people within them.
